technologies, and I voted on International Direct Digital Election - ID²E.

The GESI/2009 and i3G Institute, focused in its scientific and academic responsibilities, is honored to invite you to participate of the

International Direct Digital Election - ID²E

the election will be conducted via mobile phone, thought text message (SMS), from 6 to 20 of November, 2009.

The theme of the election is: “Is the United Nations Organization fulfilling it's mission?”

The primary objective of the experiment is to evaluate the methodology of digital voting and mobile technology for community decision making. To vote in the ID²E you must send a text message (SMS) with three characters to the cell number +55 48 88340682 (international), according with the following instructions:

* If you want to vote YES, the message should contain the following characters: 001
* If you want to vote NO, the message should contain the following characters: 002

There will be no campaign in ID²E, and discussions, explanations and defenses of proposals will be made exclusively in a social environment based on web 2.0, in and absolutely free mechanism. The secondary objective is to evaluate the use of these environments for organizing and conducting public debates focused on global citizenship and community decision making.

The ID²E will be implemented through digital ballot box, open during the voting period (6 to 20/11), and you can vote at any time, anywhere, from any mobile phone. No need for prior registration or any bureaucratic procedure, only the vote, direct and secret. Voting will open on November, 6th, 05:00PM GMT (or 08:00PM BRT). The result will be announced immediately after the end of the election, without tabulation or verification, on November, 20th , 05:00PM GMT (or 08:00PM BRT).

ELEIÇÃO DIRETA DIGITAL INTERNACIONAL - ED²I

a ser realizada via telefone celular, através de mensagens de texto (SMS), entre os dias 6 a 20 de novembro de 2009.

O tema da eleição é: “A Organização das Nações Unidas está cumprindo a sua missão?”

O objetivo prioritário da experiência é avaliar a metodologia de votação digital e as tecnologias móveis de tomada de decisão comunitária.

Para votar na ED²I você deve enviar uma mensagem de texto (SMS) com três caracteres para o número celular +554888340682 (internacional) ou 4888340682 (Brasil), de acordo com as seguintes instruções:

· Se deseja votar SIM a mensagem deve conter os seguinte caracteres: 001
· Se deseja votar NÃO a mensagem deve conter os seguintes caracteres: 002

Não haverá campanhas eleitorais na ED²I, e os debates, esclarecimentos e defesas de propostas serão realizados exclusivamente em ambientes sociais baseados em web 2.0, de forma absolutamente livre. O objetivo secundário é avaliar o uso desses ambientes para organização e condução de debates públicos voltados para a cidadania global e tomada de decisões comunitárias.

A EDI será realizada através de urna digital, aberta durante todo o período de votação (6 a 20/11), e você pode votar a qualquer momento, de qualquer lugar, de qualquer telefone celular. Não há necessidade de credenciamento prévio, cadastramento ou qualquer procedimento burocrático, somente o voto, direto e secreto. A votação será aberta no dia 6/11, as 17:00 horas GMT (ou 20:00 horas de Brasília). O resultado será divulgado imediatamente após o final do pleito, sem necessidade de tabulação ou apuração, no dia 20/11, as 17:00 horas GMT (ou 20:00 horas de Brasília).
